If you missed this lovely 8-year-old boy’s appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show this week and if you don’t quite know who he is, worry not. We’ve got the must-watch videos here. The hype began several hours before the Ellen show aired on TV, as Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt posted the following message on Instagram with an image of him and young boy Demarjay Smith racing:
“The Face-off of the Century happens today on @TheEllenshow.. You’ll been seeing this young Jamaican trainer DemarJay.. “Him say me no do weakness” Such a brilliant child.. #BoltvsDemarJay”
This segment of the American show lived up to expectations. Demarjay Smith, a Youtube sensation for posting a video of his personal trainer skills, impressed the public with his attitude on the couch.
First of all, have a look at Demarjay Smith’s video which gathered more than half-a-million Youtube views in less than 20 days after its publishing date:
“What made you start?” Ellen asks Demarjay on the show.
“I started exercising so I don’t get bullied. I have a cousin who was bullied about exercising and his weight, so then I had to do something because, like you see on TV, I have to be fit and strong,” he replies.
Concerning his career goals, the kid states:
“I want to be a personal trainer. Also, I want to be a Basketball player. And you know, I like track, running. So I want to challenge Usain Bolt in a race.”
“Do you think that you could beat him?” DeGeneres replies.
Spectators erupt in laughter before Ellen declares:
“You know, you can’t talk trash like that and not expect Usain Bolt to challenge you. Usain, where are you?”
Ellen DeGeneres then surprises the kid by bringing Usain Bolt on stage. You would think the boy would be star-struck. Nope! His reaction is priceless.
Fired up to challenge the world’s fastest man live on TV, Demarjay first engages in what he’s good at the most: a push-up challenge. Ellen eventually sends the pair outside for that must-see race and Demarjay Smith is ready to go!
“Come on, Usain! Don’t be scared of me,” he yells as he walks towards the start line.
Watch how it happened:
Usain Bolt may have just lost his title as the fastest man on Earth.

Massive respect to Usain Bolt who faked cramps and let Demarjay Smith – who blatantly false-started the race – to win. This is what legends are made of. “You got lucky, man. I want a rematch, though,” Bolt joked.
Hats off to little boy Demarjay Smith. Remember the name! This fit kid is destined for success in the world of sports and entertainment.
