Remember, 1 in 5 children in America live in households without consistent access to adequate food and Albertsons/Safeway as grocery retailer want to help aid in this initiative by helping to improve health outcomes for hungry children and their families. Hunger Is campaigned was developed to help in connecting hungry kids in our community neighborhoods to healthy food. As grocery retailers, collectively aim to support these charitable events and give back back to our communities.
In 2015 we saw the First Lady Michelle Obama, spearhead the Let’s Move campaign The campaign was announced on February 9, 2010 by Michelle Obama. She indicated the campaign would encourage healthier food in schools, better food labeling and more physical activity for children.] On the same date, President Barack Obama signed a presidential memorandum creating the Task Force on Childhood Obesity to review current programs and develop a national action plan (wikipedia). Thus implying that children living in homes with inadequate supply of food can have an healthy alternative, cheered by their neighborhood grocery retailers such as Albertsons/Safeway.
The star of the hit abc network TV series, “How to Get Away with Murder“, in her own words, Viola Davis confesses ” I was one of those children.” she urges everyone to consider the reality that 1 in 5 children living in America goes to school Hungry Every Day.
